Dear iMobimac:
Please stop trying to advertise on my blog. I've removed the comment in question (posted by one 'iMobimac_Guru', from a Brazilian IP address no less) and will do the same to any other obviously commercial comments. Feel free to contact me directly if you'd like ad space on Fibble.org, but the price just went up. Way up.
As a side note, I'm not opposed to iMobimac - there are models of BlackBerry out there who won't be able to connect any other way. But if you own a bluetooth-capable BlackBerry that can be upgraded to OS 4.2.1 or later, you're wasting your money by buying someone's software to accomplish what you can do yourself for free, with very little effort.

oh really? this has not been my "free" effortless experience. Please elaborate?
Elaborate on what? I think my previous posts on the subject are reasonably clear. I'm not charging anything. Was there some other point you wanted clarified?
So this is effortless? :)
"T-Mobile's latest BlackBerry firmware has the wonderful property of requiring me to pull the battery from the phone before each attempt to connect."
I think that may be what he's referring to. I'm inclined to try mobi2mac because of this t-mobile issue and my Pearl.
In fairness, this was written before RIM and T-Mobile broke their firmware. I agree, the current situation for T-Mobile users (and really, any other carrier using the later builds of the 4.2.x OS) is pretty lousy. Sprint and Verizon users on the 4.3.x OS have zero problems along these lines, the lucky dogs. My tests with the 4.5.x beta firmware for both the Pearl and the 8820 also suggest there will be no problems with the upcoming Bold or any device capable of running 4.5.
As you might've gathered from the main topic of the post, my problem with iMobimac isn't their product, it's their shady business practices. I haven't tried their product, but if it fits your needs and $70 seems a fair price, go nuts.
