Use your BlackBerry 8800 as a Bluetooth Modem under OS X
User fdesir over in the forums has braved uncharted waters and reports that the script for the Pearl also works with the new BlackBerry 8800! So I've done a bit of cosmetic work to the script and posted it here. If you've already set up your Pearl as a modem, the same instructions apply; if you haven't, head on over to the new 8800 forum and check out the howto post there.
Caveats - I don't have an 8800 myself to test with, but if you run into trouble feel free to post a comment here or over in the forums and I'll see what I can do.

Help me! I am trying to set up my Blackberry Pearl as a bluetooth modem with a Mac and have followed your advice, but every time I click on the link to download it brings me to a web page of script, rather than a link which i can save. Am I doing something wrong?

Anna - To download the script, right-click on the link and choose 'Save Link As' or 'Download Linked File' depending on your browser.
works perfectly for me, on Cingular. Had to use Safari to download the script file, not Firefox, but it worked fine after that.
Anyone successfully paired their 8800 to mac laptop (with TMobile service)? I seem to keep having disconnects. What phone # and login info are folks using? Thanks
I haven't this yet... But can anyone tell me if this will work with Verizon? (There's no username/password listed for Verizon.)
I felt like I needed to confirm that the whole thing *does* work!
Using 8830 with a MacBook Pro/10.4.10, on a Bell Mobility CDMA network.
I did exactly what was mentioned on the main page, and left all the connection fields blank. No APN seems to be needed for Bell...
i really appreciate reading your article, thanks
