T + 1 Month
Tuesday was Mark's one month birthday! We've resisted the urge to get him a birthday cake, as 1) he can't eat it; and 2) the last thing we need is more sugar. Still, Mark's no longer a newborn at this point, which probably explains why most of his newborn clothes no longer fit. Luckily this growing process ends sometime in the next six to twelve months and we'll be able to keep him in the same clothes until he leaves for college. Right?
Hard as it is to believe, we're settling into a nice routine around Chez Goodale. I've gone back to work, where they've been nice enough to pretend I don't smell like sour milk and baby feces. It's a bit strange not having Mel and Mark around, but I'm enjoying interacting with adults again. I've even managed to avoid reflexively cleaning food off the faces of my co-workers.
Next week promises to be fun - my folks are coming into town Saturday, and we're headed down to L.A. on Wednesday to introduce Mark to his Great-Grandmother, as well as a couple of the college gang. If we have time, we'll probably stop by campus and see what sorts of baby wear we can deck him out in this coming football season. (Hey, we're in Tree/Dirty Bear territory - it's purely a defensive move.)

Happy belated 1-month birthday, Mark! Can't wait to see you guys next weekend, and we promise not to mention the smell.
Actually, we'll be down Wednesday through Friday, driving back Saturday morning. Hopefully we can connect up with you guys during the evening or Saturday morning (or both)!
huh, dude, you've always been a couple of months ahead of me (turning thirty and stuff). getting adult still makes me a bit anxious, but I am really happy to read how great it may be!
