Settling in
Well, I'm now in my fourth week back at Reactivity - where does the time go? Things are largely as I remember them, though there are plenty of new faces. All in all, things seem to be going really well - we're talking to exactly the sorts of strategic partners I'd hoped we would, development is moving in the direction I'd hoped, etc., etc. Man, it's great to be back.
Mel and I have started laying the groundwork for an eventual home purchase this fall. We had a lender today (rhymes with 'Countryside') tell us that people making over a hundred thousand a year were easily able to qualify for mortgages on homes 'in the 1.1 to 1.3 million dollar range'. I almost choked. The numbers were a bit unbeliveable - I had no idea how deep into the hole the lenders were allowing people to get with negative amortization loans. I mean, if you're going to shoot yourself in the foot, why use a pistol? I have a twelve-gauge handy.
Oh, and I almost forgot. While walking through the Venezia section of the Venetian hotel the weekend of the 22nd, I saw Li'l Jon (of 'Yeah!' fame) walking between two very large bodyguards. Mel didn't recognize him, but he's kind of distinctive looking - blame the hours I wasted watching MTV in Ithaca with Aariel.

Congrats on the forward progress on the home front. Someday, we'll catch up. I mean, once we decide where we want to live. And get jobs there.
