...and we're off!

I'm writing this from the Northwest Airlines Worldperks Club lounge (we get in because of our business class tix) - a free gin & tonic or two and we'll be ready to board the plane to Amsterdam! So far, everything has gone very smoothly (touch wood). We'll be on the plane for approximately four and a half weeks, after which we have an eight hour layover in Amsterdam before we board our connecting flight to Cairo (a scant two weeks in the air, I'm told). Expect frequent updates from the road (and by frequent I mean whenever we have network access and aren't having too much fun to bother telling you fine people about it).
