Yep, I'm done. My finals completed, my flights uneventful (bumped to first class on both legs, even). I'm sitting in my own home typing this on my own PC, while my own wife sleeps through her own alarm clock and my own cats writhe sleepily in - well, I guess it's technically the same sunshine, though there was so little of it in Ithaca it's hard to tell. I only get one night of this, though - today we head to L.A. for the weekend to celebrate Ryan's 30th birthday.

I'm a little weirded out by all the ceremony around turning 30. I've repeatedly stated (maybe a little too repeatedly) that I don't see 30 as a big milestone in life. In fact, I'm not sure why big, round numbers are meaningful at all. Still,I'm clearly in the minority on this, and any excuse to get the gang together for a party has my full and unconditional approval.

While I have Ryan trapped this weekend, I'll have to start laying the groundwork for his bachelor swarée. I'm feeling a little derelict in my best man duties what with the othercoastthing and all, so this is a good opportunity to make some forward progress on what I'm assured is my primary (possibly only) duty.
